SKU: Ltl-5210A.

Ltl Acorn 12MP Hunting Trail Camera Night Vision LTL-5210A

$139.99 $104.99

The LTL Acorn LTL 5210 Series has been designed for watching wild nature during the day and at night. The model is equipped with the IR lighting which generates a 940nm light beam, so that it is imperceptible for human eye and does not disturb the night life rhythm in the forests. Trail camera has 2 PIR motion sensors on its sides and one main sensor. Range of vision of the main sensor is 35° and of side sensors 100°. The photo trap is dedicated for watching game, forests or property.

This is the cellular version of the Ltl Acorn 5210 series. Not only great for wildlife monitoring, but ideal for surveillance of antisocial or criminal activities (requires sim card – not included). This model is only available with no-glow LEDs.

As with the other Ltl Acorn trail camera models the 5210A can be set to record pictures or video footage whenever movement is detected (the camera actually uses ambient temperature changes to “sense” movement, this heat detection will then trigger a recording). In cellular mode, the camera only takes pictures as videos are too large to send.

What trail camera should I buy?

This depends on what you are planning to film and what quality and features are needed. First, think about the subject you want film. This will determine what camera you should get. Once you know roughly what you are going to film you can then look at features. If you are unsure or going to film many things, look for a camera with several features. Things to consider:

  • Quality and price
  • Trigger speed
  • Trigger distance and IR distance
  • Extra features like a playback screen etc.
What is interpolated resolution?

All trail cameras consist of a light sensitive chip that records the footage (photo/video) at a certain resolution. Many of today’s cameras have actual resolution and enhanced or interpolated resolution. This means software processes the picture and doubles the resolution allowing the images or videos to be enlarged. To be honest most cameras have this feature as standard. Anything that is 5MP actual or 12MP interpolated is good. The higher the better.

What is an IR filter pass?

In natural daylight there is Infra-red. This is a higher part of the visual spectrum and is normally blocked out by our eyes. By blocking the natural IR light, colours during the day are a lot richer. As trail cameras can see Infra-red at night, the cameras need a way to block natural IR during the day. An IR filter pass is a filter that naturally moves across the lens to allow richer more colourful footage. When it comes to night-time the filter automatically moves away. Most trail cameras have this feature.

What is the Difference Between a Trail Camera and a Game Camera?

These two terms are completely interchangeable. Both phrases refer to a device that is meant to detect and capture movement. You can use these devices for tracking, hunting, observation, surveying and to keep an eye on things at home or at your business.

What Affects the Battery Life of My Trail Camera?

The battery life of your trail camera depends on numerous factors. The more activity there is in an area will result in a shorter battery lifespan because the camera is frequently taking pictures and recording videos. Nighttime detection uses more battery juice because of the LED activation. Videos pull more battery power than photos, as do using settings like time lapse mode and rapid fire mode.

Many trail camera manufacturers install battery-saver technology to preserve the life of your batteries when there is no movement detected for an extended amount of time. As a general rule, batteries should last between two and six months.

How Important is SD Card Size in Relation to Trail Cameras?

Trail cameras have different memory card allowances. Some can work with SD cards with 32-gigabyte capacity while others will only take 8-16GB chips.

The memory capacity of your SD card determines how many photos and videos your camera can save. The quality of the photos and videos also affects that number. For example, a 5-megapixel camera with a 32-gigabyte SD card can save over 15,000 photos while a higher-quality 12-megapixel camera (also using a 32GB memory card) can store approximately 8,000 photos.

There’s no real downside to larger SD card size, especially if you won’t be able to access your camera regularly. If you know you’ll be downloading photos from the camera often, then you might be able to save a few bucks on a game camera with a lower memory capacity. It’s also worth noting that some cameras have an “overwrite” feature that will save the newest photo and delete the oldest one when the memory card is full.

Do Trail Cameras Work the Same During the Day as They Do at Night?

Trail cameras work toward the same purpose 24/7 but the methods and results vary according to the lighting. The best trail cameras usually take color photo and video during the day, but the infrared or covert LEDs only allow for black/white at nighttime. The detection range might be 10-20 feet shorter at night, and video recordings could also be shorter.

The camera will probably use more power at night due to the LEDs, especially if targets in the area are nocturnal. Some models have a timer so you can arrange for the camera to go into sleep mode during certain times of the day or night.

What’s the Best Way to Mount my Trail Camera?

A lot of manufacturers include a mounting strap with the trail camera. You can use this strap to mount the camera on a tree. Mounting brackets suited for every purpose are available online and in hunting outfitters, or you can make your own.

It’s best to mount the camera as securely as possible so it won’t move and cause you to lose your view. You might want to mount the camera in a lock box designed for trail cameras to prevent theft or damage. Feel free to conceal your camera however you like, but make sure the lens and LEDs remain unobstructed.

What is the Difference between Standard, Wireless, and Cellular Game Cameras?

A standard trail camera does not have Internet or cellular capabilities, although some can detect GPS coordinates automatically. Pictures and videos must be retrieved manually.

A wireless game camera is able to connect to the Internet via Wi-Fi. It can send live updates, but the range is relatively short.

A cellular trail camera uses networks like Verizon and AT&T to relay photos and videos to your phone or email wherever there is cellular service. There is a monthly fee of $5-$20 payable to the cell provider for this service.

How Can I View Pictures/Videos in the Field?

If you have a digital camera that has a SD card reader, this might be a viable option. For convenience, however, many hunters buy trail camera viewers that plug right into the camera itself. You can then save the images onto the device and pop the newly-cleaned SD card back into the camera. To make things even easier on yourself, buy a trail camera with a built-in viewer.

What Should I Do If My Trail Camera isn’t Working or Providing Me with Pictures/Videos?

First, use a pocket battery tester to make sure the batteries are fully-charged. If fully-charged batteries don’t do the trick then plug the camera into an external power source, if possible. The next step would be to contact the manufacturer so they can help you troubleshoot the problem. Keep receipts and warranty cards in a safe place in case you need to return or exchange a damaged game camera, and always find out how the manufacturer and/or vendor handles returns, repairs, etc.

How easy is the trail camera to setup and use?

The trail camera is very easy to setup and use. the camera has a really neat menu system.

Does the camera come with an SD card?

The offer is cracking offer and does not include the card.

How does the camera work?

The camera is a digital camera, motion detection device and video recorded rolled into one.

What can the camera film?

The camera can film anything from small animals upwards. If it is smaller, you will have to place the camera closer to the subject. If it is larger, you can place the camera further away. The bigger the surface area on the sensor, the easier the camera will detect motion and record to the camera.

Where can you place the camera?

The camera can be placed anywhere. The camera comes with a strap and buckle and can easily be strapped to anything.

Does the camera flash and will this give the location of the camera away or scare the subject?

No, the camera has a sensor and if it is dark, the camera will turn on invisible infra-red lights. This does not flash and does not give anything away.

Can I see the pictures or video on the camera?

Yes, the camera has a small colour screen on the back and it is easy to see the live footage through the camera as well as the shots and video taken.

How easy is the camera to use?

It is very easy to use as it has a small colour screen and easy to use buttons and menu system. Like all gadgets, there is an element of learning however with a bit of experimentation you will get there.

I am impressed with how well it’s made and it’s very Very nice looking! We tested it on a deer head in our living room and the pics seem to be clear enough to tell a lot about it .. my husband, using a lot of trail cameras for hunting, said that this one seems like it will work just fine!

Works great! Can’t wait to set up in the field. Latest was used to catch which dog was pooing in the middle of the night. Got him on camera thanks to your camera! And I was blaming my wife’s dog.

Awesome product! Solid construction, good video options, UI is solid. Only wish it had a mount screw on top as well as the bottom. But there are lots of mounting options and it comes with a cable mount and a pedestal mount.

I have tried many different trail cameras. These are by far the easiest set up. I ordered 4 to start and test. I ordered two more and will be getting more. I use these cameras to monitor deer activity.

exactly what I was looking for. I have always been interested in the wildlife around my home. I have never used a remote camera before. The little acorn is easy to use. It can be set to take photos, videos or both, the interval between photos can be set and it can be programmed to function only at certain times of the day. The photo quality is ok, blurry if the subject is moving very fast but good depth of field. the night video function is a little grainy but still good enough that you can tell what is there. quite sensitive – mice and small birds will set it off if they are within about 60cm of the sensors.

Good product with Great customer service!

I have just purchased two of these, and so far are pleased with them. You can run them on just four batteries, but it’s best to use eight.
It can also be run on a 6v power supply (not included) You can use it straight from the box, but you may want to do a bit of fine tuning first ?.
I bought mine to record the foxes in the garden at night. The first time I used it, I caught a fox and a badger.
I also want to use it to monitor my property when I go on holiday, BUT PLEASE NOTE…..IT WILL NOT RECORD THROUGH GLASS….I don’t think any of these devices will, by their very nature. You can record video clips, single images, or both. You could pay a lot more, and not gain any
great advantage, apart from maybe battery life. At present I am using Duracell AAs, but will get some more Rechargeables soon. I am using 16gig SD cards, but apparently you can use 32Gig cards.

Purchased this item to find out what was eating the chicken feed at night. The trail cam helped us fine-tune our live trapping method for raccoons, and it is interesting to see the variety of wildlife that visits the barn at night.

Having used these for some little while now, a couple of tips. Rechargeable batteries work fine, but will only light up two of the battery indicator bars. I leave them out three or four time before swapping batteries. When batteries get low, videos only last a few seconds.
Put some sort of cover over the cameras, to keep rain off, and to stop lens from fogging up.

An excellent product that seems to give better night shots if there is no artificial light. It does take some practice to get the best from this camera but I would certainly recommend it for quality and ease of use. My only grumble would be that the strap was missing from the box, not a show stopper but annoying all the same. I have owned this product for only a few days and already I have some great wildlife shots taken both in the day and over night, it’s amazing the number of visitors a patio can have from wood mice, badgers, foxes and of course cats at night to a variety of garden and woodland birds throughout the day. To our great amusement it even tracked a snail ‘rocketing’ past. If you want some fantastic wildlife shots this is the product for you.

Having fun with this unit and have caught a fox sneaking through the garden in the early hours, a couple of cats and a hedgehog.
Can’t wait for Winter when I can fix it in the apple tree and watch bird activity around the feeders.
It takes good quality footage and stills day or night.
Being a gadget fan it attracted my interest but I’m starting to find more uses for it.

I was not expecting much from this little bit of kit, but how was I wrong. The pictures on a bright sunny day are crystal clear, they are still very good at lower light. At night you get Black and white, Probably the best way to shoot for clarity, but the pictures are more blurred and one can just make out which specie, but that is what I wanted to see what is there rather creating an award winning picture.

I have not been able to test it in wet conditions, so not sure about the seal. Also the fastening strap could be better constructed and is very fiddly and not easy in the field to attach to some places. It is too short for a wall tree stump and too fiddley for a young tree

All in all this camera and the videos its shoot are superb and it is worth every penny.

* Infra-red illumination is visible to the naked eye , but only faintly. In use I’ve found it to be un-noticable when set to take just photo’s – its when taking a video the IR stays on and is slightly noticable…..yet its only a dull dark red glow and if I didn’t know where the camera was I doubt I’d notice it.
* Batteries – using duracell 2450ma rechargables , they don’t seem to be affected by the cold and last for around 2000+ photos
* Case – fiddley and strangely designed… but its ok… seems durable and all the moving parts fit well and provides a waterproof seal.
* Menu – just remember to click ‘ok’ after you’ve selected your choice! otherwise straightforward, instructions not read or needed.
* Fixing to a tree ( or similar) This is where the case’s design is good! – I use dark green plastic coated garden wire ( although a strap is included) and fixing takes hardly any more than a minute or 2, and because of the cases rounded rear it can be fixed to point at any angle away from the tree.

Trip Mode:

It’s quite fast, probably between 1 & 1.5 seconds. – The reason why it is faster than most stealth cameras is because it has side sensors which prime the camera – however this can be switched off if they arn’t needed.
I have it set to take 3 pictures every trip and have the next trip set to 0 secs after the last photo is taken. there is a lag between the last of the pictures being taken and the next time it will trip though, regardless of this setting – the lag is possibly around 5 to 10 secs though I’ haven’t accurately measured this.

This camera has so far taken in excess of 10,000 photos…….I’ve used it for time-lapse a lot!. This feature isn’t on most trap camera’s and works really well on the little acorn. The interval of the time lapse is user defined – even down to every few seconds
